The SER100 from SCM Microsystems reads all electronic passports and ID cards quickly and reliably, while complying with the strictest data security requirements (such as BAC - Basic Access Control).
The e-Passport reader is based on 13.56 MHz contactless smart card technology and reads all ISO 14443 type A and B compliant electronic documents and smart cards including Philips, Infineon, Atmel, Sharp, ST Microelectronics, Gemalto, Samsung, and others.
The high-performance SER100 is a USB reader that supports all relevant security standards. The PC/SC compliance ensures seamless integration between a Windows® environment and the contactless world. The on-board flash memory allows secure firmware upgrades during evaluation, development as well as in the field to protect the investment against obsolescense.
The reader is ranked as the highest in interoperability and versatility. It successfully read all passports at the latest Interoperability Test. Therefore, the SER100 and SCMs other RFID reader entries were among the top performers.
